Swedish Crawfish Party - 2008
Swedish Crawfish Party - 2008
We had a large and enthusiastic crowd of about 150 people at the Crawfish Party on Friday, Sept. 5 at IKEA Atlanta. Since it was Friday evening everyone was ready to begin the weekend with food, drink and socialize with Swedes, Georgians and their guests.
It was an experience to crack the shell on the crawfish... a first for me. Tom Rosseland inaugurated the Happy Hour and demonstrated how to prepare for eating crawfish including wearing a bib and a colorful pointed hat. A good time was had by all. Thanks to the staff at IKEA the last party of summer was filled with colorful crawfish paper moons hanging from the ceiling. Off to the side, a line snacked between the tables where people sampled crawfish, Swedish meat balls accompanied by potatoes and Lingon berry sauce, a tray of cheeses with traditional flatbread on a wheel followed by an assortment of sweet deserts topped the evening meal. Snaps sponsored by DSV made the evening even more festive, a fantastic fun evening in the Swedish-American community of Georgia.
